  • Tutorial : How to clone yourself.
  • Here I have used Paint Shop Pro 7, however it should be applicable to a lot of other paint programs.
  • Aim: To create a duplicate of my self in one pic.
  • I have taken two pictures of myself, the camera was placed on a tripod and manual focus was used.
  • Also both pics should be taken at the same exposure setting, I didn't however it can be fixed latter.
  • Here is a screen shot of both pics in PSP

  • Step 1.
  • Select the area from the first pic that you want to copy across to the second pic.
  • It's Menu/Select/then draw on the source pic the area you want to clone. I am using a rectangular selection.
  • You may want to feater the selectiopn 1 pixel. It will make alignment latter on a bit easier. (Thanks Wendy & Eric)

  • .
  • I have taken my selction right out to the edge as per the pic below.

  • .
  • Now we copy and paste our selection into the final pic.
  • It's Menu/Copy
  • on to the next step

  • .
  • Then * making sure we are working on our destination pic * - just click on the border.
  • Paste the copied selection as a new layer into the final pic.

  • .
  • Here is mine . We now have to move it. so it is aligned with the other elements in the pic.

  • .
  • Here I have aligned it however you can see the new layer is just a bit darker.

  • I just reduced the brightness of this layer by about 10%
  • The layout numbering may be a bit different in your project, I was working with lots of layers creating this tute---

  • .
  • We need to merge all the layers, if we have finished working, before saving the pic.
  • To merge the layers in Menu/Layers/Merge All (flatten).

  • Here is my finished pic..
  • Feedback on this tute would be appreciated.
  • Thank you.
